Chemical type of tungsten carbide is WC, is black six crystal and metal luster, hardness are similar to diamond, is good conductor for electricity and heat . Melting point is 2870 ℃, boiling point is 6000 ℃, the relative density is 15.63 ( 18 ℃). Tungsten carbide is insoluble in water, soluble in hydrochloric acid and sulfuric acid, nitric acid and hydrofluoric acid in the mixed acid. Pure tungsten carbide is fragile, if mixed with a small amount of titanium, cobalt and other metals, can reduce brittleness. Tungsten and carbon compounds for another two tungsten carbide, chemical formula is WC, melting point is 2860 ℃, boiling point is 6000 ℃, the relative density of 17.15. The properties, preparation method and application are the same with tungsten carbide.
